About Me

My name is Natalie and I have been a registered childminder since 2013. I am a mum of two and a qualified Art teacher with over 10 years teaching experience, I have a warm and spacious home and a garden with lots of safe play equipment. I am fun loving and enjoy getting involved with the children, we do lots of painting (inside and out), baking (cakes, bread etc). We get out and about as much as possible i.e to groups or on country walks collecting sticks/leaves etc. Also day trips out to places of fun and interest such as; City Farm, Cattle Country, softplay, Barnwood Park, Slimbridge, and various play groups .

My qualifications

NVQ 3 unit in Understanding how to set up a home based child care service, Paediatric First aid, Child protection, Food Hygiene Certificate.
Fine Art Degree
BA Hons in Education (Teaching)

The children are encouraged to participate in stimulating and challenging activities that are inspired by the children's interests. I aim to do one activity a day with the children and link it to the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) to help with their learning and development.

I am always looking for new ways to make the activities as much fun as possible, whilst at the same time challenging the children and getting them to explore different skills and media. I drop off and collect from my local school, Upton St Leonard's Primary.

My experience

Over 10 years teaching children.
I have taught children with various special needs and have worked in multicultural schools. My experience as a teacher and a background within the Arts means that I can offer a range of fulfilling activities in an environment that is safe, welcoming and fun.
I provide a professional, friendly and safe childcare service in a warm, welcoming and homely environment.

Extracts:

“The childminder provides engaging activities linked to children's interests and the children show high levels of concentration in their play. They clearly enjoy the activities the childminder thoughtfully provides.

She provides an excellent ongoing narration that boosts children's play experiences, focuses on what they want to do and encourages them to take the lead. She introduces lots of different words and children follow her instructions well. She uses her knowledge of individual children's needs to develop their independence”
